I’d also say to consider cruise lines like MSC Cruises which don’t change the full adult fare for kids. We’ve made some huge savings by doing this and by looking out for reduced kids price offers.

I went on a cruise once with my mother, and I know that she prepaid for gratuities. It makes me wonder if it was worth the cost, or if she could have saved more by not prepaying. She’d say “I don’t have to tip anyone because I’ve already paid my gratuities.” Which made sense in the moment, but now I’m wondering if any of that money ever reached the workers. You have no idea what the cruise does with that money. Dang it, now I gotta research it!
